In the last 2 weeks of December, looking to fly from WAS-->LAX-->PTY-->WAS.

(Need hotel in Panama, not LA.)

Her chase card has about 25k UR points.

I'm eligible for a chase UR card, or any other card(s).

What cards will give us the best bang for the buck in planning this trip?

I figure we'll need to be concerned about black-out dates this time of year?

You can get one of the no fee Hilton cards for at lest 40k points and they have a number of hotels for 10k.  Also, not for you and not worth starting a new thread b/c there isn't a ton of available dates (although there were good Channukkah dates in Dec.) but on Delta right now from JFK you can fly economy (1-stop in ATL) for only $369 or Business class for $906 for others that might wanna go.

The nice hotels are really cheap, and the points redemptions are lousy.
The best redemption is paying cash or redeeming barcalys arrivals points.
