Sure, he's the defendant.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

He already received his punishment so go easy on him.

He's off ddf, so he won't be insulted.

Some employers pay you full during your time on jury duty.

ETA: And you don't have to use up any official 'time off'.
You mean like those pathetic government jobs?

I was actually referring to my private sector company, but that too. I hope you're not confusing me for the one who was bashing government jobs.

My company pays nothing for jury duty, though they don't force using vacation time. When I was called for a grand jury, which would have been once a week for sixteen weeks, I wrote in asking to be excused. Sorry, but I can't take a 20% pay cut for 1/3 of the year, I have a family to support. I was excused without having to go down to court

There were a couple of people on the jury I sat on who were Federal employees of sorts. For one woman, probably in her 50s, it was her third jury. She loved the chance to get away from her desk without losing pay or vacation time.

You don't do it simply out of loyalty as an American citizen?

My wife and I got summoned for jury duty (both on the same day) but we live in Israel. My wife called them up to tell them that and they said to fax in a utility bill even though it's in Hebrew and is under my name not my wife's. DROPR or is it actually enough to send in a bill in a foreign language that doesn't have your name on it. HAs anyone here had this and what did you do?
