What's the point? OO followers/members don't care about these gedolim and no one that follows these gedolim ever cared about OO either. Seems like a waste of breath.

This is an attempt to get the OU on board.
The OU constituents and shuls still welcome the open conservadox into their shuls.
I can't really figure out how the OU is a respected hashgacha amongst torah Jewry, while the leadership if way off the deep left end.. Noone seems to care or notice.
Maybe it is a compartmentalized organization?

You know that is a loaded question. Hasn't orthodoxy changed over the years becoming less strict (not sure if that is the best term to use)? Change will come from within. Unless there is a major switch in society it will only be a matter of time.
