That's actually great. Jet blue has some very nice redemptions. Nobody else that i know of gets you to Miami for 4800 miles. Not targeted. You want to transfer some points into my account? (Is that an illegal question?)

I think their mileage redemption system is fare based, which can be nice.

So? 4800 miles plus 5.60 for a $79 fare is a very simple 1.5 cents per point, a decent redemption rate. If I'm getting 260 JB for 250 MR, that's 1.65 cents a MR point on a simple redemption. Cheaper than BA would've cost me.

Why not? If i had the promotion I'd have booked my ticket already. 1.65cpp is such bad value for a small redemption?

Not bad but nothing to brag about. Especially for a $73 ticket. Also if you value JB miles you gotta consider that you're loosing out on the miles you would earn on a revenue fare. All in all I am wasting my time here... Go find better redemption's...

Nothing to brag about, but for 4600 MR points i wouldn't think twice. I don't value JB points in terms of collecting them (as you wisely pointed out, you're generally not smart for collecting points in a revenue based system), so i don't really care about the points. I like thinking short term (aka redeeming the points right after transferring).

While b6 is revenue based it is also somehow route based and amount of tickets sold based. It's a completely impossible to understand system and sometimes redemptions are better than others.

Everything is minimal, but when you include everything including the JB miles earned on a rev ticket (doesn't matter if you care to collect them or not. At the end of the day you can use 'em next time and transfer less MR) it isn't too exciting. OTOH when they have a promo on point redemptions like they had a 25% bonus a while ago, that's a different story.
