Selling a cellphone upgrade
« on: December 03, 2015, 01:43:42 PM »
It looks like most carriers are stopping to give subsidized phones with their plans.  I have an old Sprint plan that still allows me to get a phone with a renewal of my 2  year contract.
I bought a phone on Best Buy .com on Black Friday. Now that it's here, I'm worried about details.
Do I sell it as a closed box?  Will Sprint charge me an 'upgrade fee' to my account?  Will Sprint charge the buyer an 'activation fee' when they activate it on their line? Will the buyer have any trouble activating it on their line?
Thanks.

You bought the phone as an upgrade or you just bought a Sprint phone from Best Buy?

I bought the phone as an upgrade.
I gave my phone number and signed onto another 2 years of my Sprint contract.

I don't see why Sprint would care, since you're essentially paying for the phone every month (the contract price includes that). I may be wrong though, you should wait to hear a definite answer from someone

I was inclined to that answer. Thanks.
One concern is the upgrade fee/ activation fee.  Who will pay that?  The new phone activator or does it automatically go to me, the account holder?
