pretty sure all gift cards from the amex offer needed to be in an account by now or they would be refunded.

can you just book the later nights of the stay out of the second account?

I think on my gift cards that I bought in Dec 30th, I had until Mar 26th or something like that. I might be able to use someone else's account for another booking I am doing. But if you try to split up the booking you end up paying the cleaning fee twice, and also the hosts might get suspicious and refuse your request.

I have read up thread that you can negotiate with the host not to charge cleaning fees. Tell them that your friend is booking it for you.
