Only if you have a boarding pass from a participating airline, and you gave that airline your KTN prior to your boarding pass being printed.

My parents are in need of a refundable fare from nyc to Israel. I looked at the basic economy fare (O) rules and it appears that El Al allows a refund before the first segment for a $250 cancellation fee. Can someone confirm that this is accurate? Is it an easy process to obtain the refund?

Most likely, the fare is not refundable, but rather if you cancel before the deadline, you would receive credit towards a future flight (usually to be used within 1 year), less the fee. The only true refundable fares are the full Y class (maybe a couple more), that typically cost as much as (or more) than a business class flight.

It is refundable but elal will most likely add a $50 handling fee bringing your total to $300

About $150 each way (there's no YQ if you book through Quantas).

With Quantas it won't be worth it for me, don't have TY points, only SPG not worth it versus paid ticket.

For coach it doesn’t really make a difference. It’s more for business where qantas makes much more sense

No. Only certain fare classes can be upgraded and it’s not the same fare class as a points ticket

I know with United it's possible to open your reservations and see current seat availability and change whenever you want (on their website and app). was wondering if/how on ELal. Thanks!

Same as United. Go online and manage reservation
