Is an El Al voucher valid for anyone, or only the named person?

What's in it for the TA? Why would a TA do it?

Also, it's been more than 24 hours since I transferred MR points, but it's still showing the regular rates of 790 in Y. What can I or do I need to do in order to get the 690 rate?
Well, if you have a TA who you book tickets with, I guess he will do you a favor since you are his customer?

Go to the website and file a complaint. Good chance you'll get a voucher.

Thanks. With Pesach coming up, I'd rather get on a flight tonight. Any way to accomplish that?

In any event, I'm thankfully home now.

We decided in the end to anyway go to the airport to see what they'd do. Turns out they gave us a suite overnight in Kfar Maccabiah with taxis provided in both directions.

Is there still a chance of getting a voucher? With Pesach coming up and all that, I was fairly nervous.

Sure! Go for it, but you may not get a reply for a few weeks.

I emailed them right before Yom Tov, but haven't heard back from them. Apparently, Israeli law mandates compensation of 3,000 Shekels compensation for delays over 8 hours (this ended up being 9 hours). Can I assume that they'll let me take a free ticket instead.

I have no idea, but you'll get an email just when you start to forget about it. ;)

So I have two questions.

1) Looking to fly from CDG to TLV June 2nd and I called and they have some sale - they said it is 285 ELAL points - but I cannot see that on their web site - does anyone see it or know if this is true?

2) They seem to be far cheaper mile wise then the other airline - AF. AF/FlyingBlue wants 30K miles while ELAL wants 285*50 = 14250

Is the 4+ hour flight really horrible on ELAL?

TIA

OK I found their spring sale deal. http://www.elal.com/en/FrequentFlyer/Pages/hp/Spring-Economy-Bonus-Tickets-Table-080316.aspx

Seems that the miles I was quoted includes a 120 charge - otherwise it is 770/2 (one way) = 385, which is not the 265 I was quoted, but still less than 20K.

My question stands - is ELAL really bad as I hear for 4+ hours (worse than AF) or 4+ hours is not the worst thing in the world??

I guess with some Ambien no airline can be too bad ;) ;D ;D ;D
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Tough question, I'd say 50-70¢

They just emailed me back offering us each a free roundtrip or 3800 Shekel compensation.

Just flew back from MXP-TLV and on the flight they announced it was a codeshare with AA. Even though their partnership is officially over, and I booked the RT on LY and the ticket was issued on LY, any chance to claim the miles on AA? If so, is it only possible for the return and not for the outbound (in which the pilot did not announce it as a codeshare with AA)

They still have an interline agreement. That does not mean you can earn miles.
