That's real Chutzpah
They're drones. Contract of carriage, terms, blah, blah, blah. Can't make exceptions.

"You made the decision to not fly to London"
"Should I have gone to London without a stroller or diapers for our 2 year old?"
"I'm not saying I would have done anything differently, but that is the decision you made"

Worth it to file a DOT complaint?
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

I probably will, but they'll just agree with AA.

Send an email to Doug Parker as well. Low chance of it doing anything, but I'm sure you have the email written.

Don't get it - how can they say that you made a decision?

AA canceled your flight and offered you another flight that night in Economy but you can only fly Business. BA wasn't an option because early morning and you want to fly with AA only. leaving Thursday is not an option since you can only leave on Wednesdays...

Is something wrong with your keyboard that random words are bolded?

Maybe.
Or if you're smart enough - can you find a common denominator?

Also, you would have compromised on some of those bolded requirements if they COULD HAVE PRODUCED YOUR DAMN BAGS!

Dan,
Had you flown the 9:20 PM flight, without your luggage, would you have been able to go on a shopping spree in London for clothes and stroller/crib?

You would have just expected your kapota to arrive a day or so late, but in time for Shabbos.

Not second guessing what you did. Just wondering what the policy is.

But 9:20 pm flight was in economy for heavens sake.

Quote
At 8:45pm we got a page in the lounge. They were moving all passengers from our original 7:55pm flight to the 9:20pm. Business and First were oversold, but if we wanted to for sure fly to London that night it would have to be in coach.
Hardly ideal, but you’ve got to know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em so we ran to the gate and were preparing ourselves for our first ever intercontinental coach flight together.

Yes, Dan made it clear he would have compromised. The ONLY reason he isn't in London is because of his bags (100% their fault) which is why it's extra upsetting they won't rebook.

That is why I don't think that Dan should be so busy about the baggage - it doesn't sound like the bag claim is working. There are many other good claims here that can get a manager to approve something - AA, Wednesday & J class .
