We should chip in to buy Dan a GPS tracker for each suitcase.

What's the max coverage they'll offer if they're never located?  And how long before they give up looking and cut a check?

Unfortunately for Dan, you cannot put the tags on the bags AFTER they are lost.

No

That sucks :( (but is expected). Hope you have a better experience than I recently had w/ LH, where it took me 2 months to get a non-automated reply from them (infant was denied check in due to M&M incorrectly issuing award ticket. Had to pay 10% J class in cash).

What insurance company?

Reg travel insurance. Don't they cover cancellation fees for your trip if something goes wrong?

Nee? Zilch?

And the crazy thing here is that there is NO one to talk with besides some clueless phone agents. There is no one running around in JFK looking for the bags like it should be, when someone will finally bump in to the bags and will check it out than you will get it back. I had twice lost bags in EWR and after 2 days waiting I just went down my self to EWR to the baggage claim dept they have a big room with bags all over the place and both of the times the bags were there. Maybe have someone who you can explain how the bags look like go down to JFK?
And the unanswered question is, WHY? I mean you lost someone's bag be responsible to at least designate someone lets say in JFK to investigate where they are. My feeling is that they are all in JFK someplace. ORD is some BS. They are probably collecting dust in a lovely corner in JFK, and since they don't bother having anyone in JFK looking for them it may take a while for someone to stumble into them.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

I was wondering this.. I read the TR, where does ORD come in to play? Why would they be there. My guess is they made it to London.

Anything is possible with airlines. Because of how important security is, I'd hope they'd have luggage identification and tracking down to a science, but they clearly don't. It's not that uncommon for bags to get on the wrong plane.

True, but considering how many bags are processed/reprocessed/flight-changed/rebooked each day, lets be honest, they arent doing such a terrible job.

When a bag is loaded on to a plan and out of the plan why are they not being scanned?

Are you sure they replace items even when you're at your origin?
They're just going to let me buy an UppaBaby and pay me back for it?

What's the harm in buying from Amazon and not opening it and see what happens?

Believe me, travel insurance is a hood investment , even on top the one from your CC

I'm still waiting for LH over a year, case of a ticket not being issued on time

Not for delay, but if lost yes
