Honestly, if you're checking it, what's the difference (I only find these things to be a hassle if you need to carry them around in the airport. That only happens if you have limited checked baggage allowance. Something that never happens to Dan)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

You need to get all that stuff in the car, to the airport, check what you need. Then collect everything at the destination, get it to the rental/cab, to hotel. Oh yeah, and then there's the little kids (not a good idea to lose those) that your wife is watching so she can't help you shelp all that stuff. Then do it all over again when it's time to leave.

Flown on countless flights, have never needed it.
How would that be a good investment?

See here
Without going into details, a delay on a European carrier with a stop-over, rebooked on a non-stop

Comp:
Airline: delay expenses + EU comp
Travel Insurance: delay expenses
CC: delay expenses

Oh trust me, if these bags are lost they are going to cough up every single dime.

There is a limit based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Convention#Lost_baggage

Seems like Sapphire Preferred covers delayed bags ($100 per pax per day up to 5 days) even at origin.
Anyone have experience?

Yes, boy was it hell of a process, at some point was giong to give up. Travel Guard was much more a simpler process and way faster then Sapphire

Domestic liability is $3,500x4=$14,000.
Question is how it will work given that the domestic ticket was a separate PNR than the international. And we never flew internationally due to their cancellation. Which rules will apply?

I don't see the difference, Dan needs the stuff NOW
BH I have no experience, was working off stories I heard from friends etc.
I thought it was common practice, even for non DDFers, to go on a returnable shopping spree as soon as bags are lost.
Regarding orgin, it's very possible that the traveler packed expensive items that he or she needs urgently, even in home in the bag (like Dans crib, or maybe his nice shabbos suit). If the airline is responsible, shouldn't make a dif, smdestor orgin

At least in theory, when you are at your origin you will have access to your home and all of your stuff that wasn't in the bags. When you are traveling, if bags get lost you have nothing.

Is this true even if the bags were tagged to LHR?

Hence the question. Probably one that may have to go to the DoT to decide. Lots of factors in play. And the international ticket was never even used.

I don't think AA knows what they're dealing with...

Odds are they'll find the bags before it comes to that. But we shall see.

Seems like all the GPS trackers on Amazon has poor reviews and major flaws.
Who's ready to design a better mousetrap?

How is it so much cheaper than the other (poorly rated) options?
Does it really work for baggage?

Seems like it's not a GPS solution, only works if another Tile user happens to be within 100 feet of the item.

Correct. And the user has to have the bluetooth functionality turned on.
