if you go in with 4 people it'll be $1500 each since if you "share" with 3 yours is free!

No $1500 for you to all get Lifetime Fairmont Platinum. $6000/4 people.

I already have mine :)

How would you do a group?  The one who gets it free will pay the others?
Don't risk missing out on a suite a year for life waiting for a group...I doubt they're going to be willing to sell too many of these!

yes if you share your "deal" with 3 others who buy then yours is free. and yes then you give $500 to each of the 3. I think we can trust you for that :)

Dan - you can still do a group after purchase. Definitely worth it!

We're on the same page...I hadn't seen your post when I submitted mine.

However, it can be called a "group" purchase as you want to make sure that the people you share it with are going to actually go through with the deal. And the people who buy from a shared link are going to want to make sure that the person they are giving a free deal to will reimburse them.

Could be interesting as to how many they sell considering everyone who purchases (already over 70) has to use one of the two suites by the end of December 2011. Could get crowded, especially with existing reservations already in place.

Lourdes at the hotel's sales office is saying that you will get all the regular Plat bennies every year.
She doesn't seem too informed about the program, but that's what she told me...
