Is there any way to hide my name and profile pic from the reviews I post?
Was thinking of trying it out on one of my junk accounts (like the ones I use for free samples etc.), but that's really not the account where I want/need the extra 1 TB of storage.
What do you care if you put a review with your real name? Just don't review those stuff that you're not happy with, so nobody will be mad at you
Not interested in going public with my true identity at all. Nothing to do with what I do or I don't like. For the same reason my username on DDF is not my real name. (And I highly doubt yours is.)
There are exceedingly few people who have their DDF name the same as their real name. I don't think that holds true for Google+. However, if you're uncomfortable, why not just make a new account?
On DDF I might say some personal things, so I'd rather not have my real name, whereas as a review on a place I went to I don't really care if everybody friends or otherwise know that I went somewhere. As far as I can think there's nothing personal you can say or do as a Local Guide
It's assumed that the free storage is only available to the same account as the local guide
Do you have a profile picture in gmail?
The point being is that I'm not interested that my "friends" (read: those who when I see them down the block I make sure not to make any eye contact etc...) should be coming over saying, "I see you went..." "I see you did...." etc.
You can apply it to any Google account it seems.
