That's still not as good as BA. BA lets you fly up to 1,150 miles for that rate, BA doesn’t charge a close-in fee, and BA allows cancellations for just the taxes paid. And until 02/02/16 (which is when BA's new rules go into effect), you could fly up to 650 miles for only 4,500 BA miles.

Oddly enough (according to AAs chart at least) Europe will cost 55K in business class even if you fly from LAX-JFK in business on a 3 class plane as long as you fly on AA from JFK-Europe. Fly on a partner to Europe and you're hit with the 7.5K penalty for connecting from LAX-JFK in business on a 3 class plane.

Think it's a typo on AAs part?

I mean, in the zones that it is identical, like SA2, Europe, and others. Would make the chart less overwhelming, IMO.

I think it's a mistake, and Europe isn't included in both. They didn't add the text by the "From Europe" portion of both.

They're very close. Most of the differences are that the Y decreases only are applied to AA metal. I'd remove the extra column and separate the different rates w/ a "/". And I'd use an asterisk for the 7,500 3-class business lines.

AA includes the "*" to Europe in the partner section for flights leaving the US but does not include it for flights from Europe to the US. For flights leaving the other regions that have the additional 7,500 added for 3-class J, the "*" was added in both directions. I think there's a mistake in the chart.

Still looks messy. Maybe just a * indicating that it is the same. Or just write 'Same". I was hoping that this would de-clutter the chart.
