The announcement definitely sucks, I'm so happy though that this year I was BH able to book two sweet award tickets for myself with AA miles, one CX F LAX-HKG-BKK(j) 67.5k, and one QF F LAX-SYD 72.5k, and I also maxed out my 10% milage rebate from Citi AA Plat Visa while doing so, a mechayeh.

I thought this was quite well put:

Disappointed, but not shockingly so. I think the AAdvantage program is still the better of the 3 programs, just much, much less so. ...I have started flying Delta more and generally enjoyed the experience. As always, I will reevaluate which program makes the most sense for me personally and professionally and adjust accordingly. ...In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, but not necessarily pleasant to look at.

At least not with YQ on BA flights.

IMO, slightly better rates, especially for partners. However, YQ and overall worse availability make it a wash. I personally have more flexibility due to status, so I'll still be loyal to AA for the time being.

The only one I'm even slightly happy didn't change is to Africa.

It only really worked with United when done online, which can't be done with AA.
