Backup/Recovery apps for Android
« on: December 06, 2011, 08:11:48 PM »
I use Lookout which backs up call, contacts and pictures.
In addition:
Its an antivirus.
If you lose the phone 1-It locates it via GPS. 2-You can sound an alarm even if the phone is off. (Premium version 3-Locks the phone. 4-Deletes all data on the device.)

For text messages backup I use SMS backup+ (backs it up into you Gmail), actually had to use it once and worked amazing.

It would be nice to have a program that at least backs up the names of your apps so if they get deleted you can restore the apps you previously had.

It would also be nice to have an app that backs up all of the above in one app.

What do you use?

does titanium backup the text messages too?

I already had to utilize my backup that I had, and it brought back all the text messages, but just the text message, not the actual time it was sent.

Is there a way to backup that ?

on Palm Centro, I remember I had a backup app that when restored, restored the phone EXACTLY like before, the call log, the text messages, EVERYTHING.

is there something like that for Android ?

If you use google voice everything would be backed up there.

I you did root, you could also use nandroid. Although that may not be practical for day to day backups...

When you have a google account (which I assume you have for the Play Store), it remembers the apps you had installed.
