contested convention = president hillary
I really don't understand why the Republicans are doing everything to lose and self destruct.

First they put some major RINOs as candidates or positions of power (McCain, Romney, etc.), then they fail to see what's going out there and make proper strategic moves to avoid further disaster (keeping the primary field so wide for so long - and eating some of the fruits of their own cooking with such diverse and convoluted primary rules in different states).

My question to those of us who's vote actually might make a difference (Ohio, Florida): in a Hillary vs Donald election, who do you vote for?

Luckily I am in NY and exempt from wasting mental energy on such choices, for us New Yorkers it's just entertainment and a pure circus.

The interesting thing about a contested or brokered convention is that if no clear winner at first round of delegate voting, they go to subsequent rounds where they slowly gain more independence to vote their own preference. Either way, if Trump goes in with a significant lead over Cruz, I don't see it being anything but ugly.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

IMHO the entire purpose of this election cycle is so that we realize and practice a little more אל תבטחו בנדיבים וגו׳

I take it you don't understand the term contested convention.
Won't that new rule (I think Rule 40) most probably prevent anyone else besides Trump from being considered?

Its a fragmented party that merely belies the outdated 2 party system.

Trump appeals the same way all dictators appeal.

First he promises things he cant or wont keep, stuff like deporting US born children is probably a constitutional violation. I doubt his wall is feasible or even viable option.

He tells people that NAFTA costs US jobs and he does not provide tangible alternative to any thing he rails about.

Kasich can parrot what he did in Ohio, but he does not flaunt his failures, lie in your office that they were accomplishments.... Water, Steaks, Trump U etc those were blatant lies... although he must have bribed Chris Christie with quite a few steaks.

So what would you rather have? A system like Israel, Greece, Italy, just to name a few?

Democracy is never a perfect solution.

Trump appeals the same way all politicians dictators appeal.

That's one of the fundamental problems of democracy, it gives rise to populism.

There's only a small segment of the population that can or will analyze the situation with unbiased logic (and even then, can and will sometimes get it wrong, we are limited humans after all).

Many good solutions might sound counter-intuitive, or even if they make sense, they just don't sound or feel good, so that's how one loses elections.

Or move to NY, where your vote in the General Elections is guaranteed not to count, so you can sit it out with a clear conscience!

This isn't even about good or bad. This is about electable. Kasich doesn't have a chance.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Who cares? At least Ohio was smart enough to make sure Trump didn't win

Don't know why I am not hearing this anywhere but Cruz and kasich should join together. Is their only realistic way of beating trump and actuality is a pretty formadable ticket for the general election

I get the feeling that Kasich would rather remain governer than be VP but I could be wrong.

And then what?

Stopping Trump is only one part (which could be extremely messy), but then who's on the ticket, and where do Trumpsters go?

I disagree. Don't be surprised to see a Trump/Kasich ticket.
If you don't care why would you comment?
