Does anyone know if I can take a flight (DL) to Israel with a passport that is going to expire in 5 months?

According to the department of state, you need six months for Israel. Not sure if it can be waived under certain circumstances - requires more research.

A relative of mine flew recently with a passport expiring in five months  and Turkish Airlines wouldn't let him on the plane in JFK.  He had to miss his flight and rebook a new flight the next day after going to the city and getting a new expensive same day Passport.  He even called the airline to ask if it would b ok amd they reassured him yes but his airport experience was another story and the managers wouldn't budge

Just had the same issue with Swiss. Wouldn't allow under any circumstances.

Explained that the airline gets fined + they need to fly you right back.

Anybody have info for Canadian passport holder traveling to the UK from the US. It seems like UK does not require 6 month, can the airline, AA, make problems?
TIA
