Hi,

I transferred 80K Chase Ultimate points to Flying Blue and booked Air France award ticket from HKG - CDG - KBP which was delayed 12 hours. Had them cancel my flight and refund the points to my Flying Blue account.

What are the chances for getting the Flying Blue points transferred back to my Chase account and what is the best approach.

Impossible. UR doesn't transfer to Flying Blue.

No. Once points have been exchanged for a reward, the points cannot be converted back into your Membership Rewards account.

Amex can work with the airline to reverse it, difficult though without a good reason.

I've had it reversed but that's because by the time it transferred the flight wasn't around but they would reverse for other reasons?

Yup, flying blue usually it's instant but there was an issue that I still don't know what it was that caused it not to be instant.....

+1. All the no sayers please think next time before giving advice. I've gotten Amex to reverse AF/BA transfers in the past. Not so easy though, you gotta come up with a good reason.

I only said no bc the MR T&Cs say so. I did not know there was a grey area for this really. Good to know.

The reason in this case was a good one, their postponing my Wednesday night flight by 12 hours would have caused me to miss my connecting flight and would have been impossible for me to reach my destination for Shabbos. There was zero availability on any flights within my time frame and they immediately refunded my points.

Will pick up the phone and try.
