Soda
« on: November 24, 2015, 01:36:13 PM »
BH. Hi, does anyone know of any ways to buy soda (name brand like Coke or Pepsi) in bulk discounted? In order for they themselves to deliver you need to order a massive amount and otherwise you basically have the same sales from the supermarket chains. Thanks!

Go online and find a store where they sale in bulk. Or you can get the ingredients and make homemade soda, it's easy.

Go to bjs and costco. It'll be the cheapest you can get. Even cheaper than from a distributer.

I've been doing this for a while and in my experience the best way to buy is on sale from CVS, Shoprite, Waldbaums, Target, Etc. When they are on sale, they are cheaper than a distributor even with tax and deposit.

I once sold soda in a Yeshiva. I ordered from Pepsi, which was cheaper than Coke. But when CVS would have a sale, I would go there, because they're much cheaper than the company. If you want cans, you could order it from Staples with a price match to whatever store has a sale. I've done it many times.

I doubt there is ever a "loss" on soda. The bottle or can plus ingredients (essentially sugar water plus coloring and a little flavoring) is probably less than 10 or 12 cents.

There's a loss if the stores pay more for it than they make selling it, no matter how much it costs to produce.

There is a set price that corporate says they must not go under, but they always stick in a discount thru other methods, such as free cases and such

often the discounts offered by supermarket are partially manufacturer sponsored similar to a coupon.

I don't beleive that CVS really pays so much for bottles. You didn't specify the company, but if it's Pepsi then I know it's not true. I got it for cheaper and I ordered small orders from Pepsi (around 20-35 cases at a shot). When I asked my distributer why I can't get it as cheap as CVS, he told me that small businesses is an entirely different department from the big guys and they have their own price negotiations.

Obviously someone with a million case contract is gonna pay less than someone who occasionally buys 20 cases

Bumping this. Seems Sams Club via Instacart is cheapest for a consistent go-to place. Anyone have other sources?
