I'm not sure exactly what that means. As far as I am aware, it could mean anything ... even that the steel pieces came from Germany before they were forged in Spain/China. There's no way to know for sure (and I bet it's been discussed on the knife forums - there are forums for everything nowadays).

You have a point. Look, at $28, it's a good deal. Also, the reviews are overwhelmingly positive for this specific knife. I'm not saying it's the best knife out there. I'm in for 2 and we'll see how they look and feel when I get them. If I need to, I'll return. BTW, is that pic the same model?

This is a disposable plastic knife compared to the one in the OP at best.
