How to best use AA points

I have 80,000 American Airline miles, I would like to fly to LA, California.  How can I get the best use out of these miles (car, hotel, flight).

You'll do much better saving those miles for an international flight, and paying for the domestic one.

I want to travel in may, I would rather not use money and just use points.  I heard that when you transfer the points to another airline you get bonus points.  Do you know if this is true and how you do it?

no, that's only from SPG to airlines. you can't transfer points from airline to airline.
