25%(1:1) Amex transfer bonus to iberia avios thru 12/31

Anyway, if this extra 25% is dead, I'm going to hold onto my MR, because I can get a 1:1 to BA from Chase (who never has transfer bonuses). I'll wait for another transfer bonus on another partner.

Yeah, but MR has transfer bonuses, and UR doesn't. So I'd rather wait until I can get, for example, 1,250:1,000 on FlyingBlue before transferring my MR.

Any logical reason why I can't seem to get the "Combine Points" function to work? It always errors out on BA.com, even before asking me for any IB account information.

Anyway, about this deal, I find that I don't need a lot of Avios because of the massively valuable "Avios & Money" redemption, where you can effectively "buy" Avios for very cheap.

For example, on Iberia:

JFK-MAD - OFF PEAK (Iberia) - USD amounts vary by EUR exchange rate
17,000 + $ 72.86
15,300 + $ 97.86
13,600 + $ 117.86
11,900 + $ 142.86
10,200 + $ 162.86
8,500 + $ 182.86

or on BA:

JFK-GIG or JFK-GRU (American/TAM)
25,000 + $5.60
20,000 + $80.60
16,250 + $120.60
12,500 + $160.60
10,000 + $185.60
8,750 + $200.60

If you want to conserve Avios, just take the lowest redemption option. It's still a good deal.

Wow, adding the birthday actually seems to have helped... except it gets one screen further, and then says this:

...despite having logged in less than a minute ago.

Would not have worked had you not updated birthday. They verify accounts match by Name, birthday and email address. Why should they let you go any further if it wouldn't work anyway

on most routes their Cash and points aren't great. I do believe however you can purchase points this way.
