While I was obsessed with the idea of having to use TG F out of BKK to make this a true Thai experience, I could not pass on D93's discovery this morning.

While it cuts my vacation time significantly (Instead of leaving on the 27th at night Ill be leaving the 26th in the AM) I do get a) close to a full day in Doha and b) I get to burn some pre-deval AA and c) QR F A380 and QR J A350.

Even luckier. I just noticed that my 8am flight the next day was actually on the 77W. Quickly hopped on BA and thank g-d the A350 flights for the same day were still available. Lets hope my wife is ok with a mere 13 hours in DOHA and leaving at 1:55AM.

That looks awesome. Sucks that my layover in DOH is from 10:45PM - 1:00AM.

Most certainly is priced as 2 awards.

North America >> Asia 2 can only go through Asia 1.

Asia 2 via Doha as 1 award would only work to Europe or Africa.

Why not just go BKK-FRA-U.S.? TG F does fly the A380 on the BKK-FRA route. Or is that one of the routes that just never really opens up?

BKK-FRA is a much tougher get than BKK-CDG, at least when I was booking.

I dunno... Mrs. AJK would fly to JFK LAX via HKG-MEL-DXB-LHR and would gladly dress up in a hijab to explore AMM/DXB/ADD etc, but there's a line. And that line is us flying in different cabins. Wouldn't matter if it were her up front either. Either we fly together or we stay home...

Mrs. Benjie is reading this right now and smirking. She knows it ain't gonna happen. If that means it'll cost me an extra 55k on the day of, sol zain a kapara.

We will however have fun in Doha. Gotta find us some nice hijabs first!
