Mrs. Benjie is reading this right now and smirking. She knows it ain't gonna happen. If that means it'll cost me an extra 55k on the day of, sol zain a kapara.

We will however have fun in Doha. Gotta find us some nice hijabs first!  :)

...and what happens if F doesn't open day of?

Unclear and while my wife thinks we will "switch off" between J and F ( ;D) my plan is to book the other J seat soon as to avoid a scenario in which the day of there would be no J available (even though I doubt that). If nothing opens up in F, Ill dump my F seat. (On that note, can I book myself in J as well as in F?)

While I don't have personal experience, my understanding is that no, you cannot. Whether that's true in practice, I don't know.

I haven't been following this thread and route but I have booked myself on AA in both F and J via BA in the past.

Shame you're not stopping over in DXB. Would be a great activity to see this live:

So the day before there are 5 J seats open to HKG and 2 Y seats to CNX. Hmmm.

Worth it to take those and at the off chance that 2 F seats open, pay a combined 110k for them?

So defeats the purpose on using AA pre deval.

I dunno... Mrs. AJK would fly to JFK LAX via HKG-MEL-DXB-LHR and would gladly dress up in a hijab to explore AMM/DXB/ADD etc, but there's a line. And that line is us flying in different cabins. Wouldn't matter if it were her up front either. Either we fly together or we stay home...
I hear that. I did book a flight with one leg where we're not in the same cabin, but it's a ways away. The likelihood of seats opening is a lot higher since it's DXB - JNB. At least I hope so.

Actually, it's exactly the opposite. DXB-JNB/CPT are some of the toughest.

Really? What's weirder is that EK says seats are available, but AS can't book them. EF also says there are seats, but 25 HUCAs to AS and they still can't see them. I just assumed that since it wasn't touching NA it'd be easier to find seats.

How many seats are showing available on EF?

Nope.

EF shows "Yes". I don't know how many, but EK confirmed at least 1. In fact of all the flights only the one I want shows "Yes".

Flight 1 on the A380 any real preference in regards to row 1 v 2? And would one ever want A+E/F+K or just standard E+F for a couple?

Same question goes for the A350.

Those seem to be blocked anyways.

In general, rather a first row or somewhere behind? And isn't it reeeaaalllyyy late (or early I guess) wherever you are!?  ::)

I am torn and am not sure what to do. This is/was my current "plan" while I am there:

Now I checked EF for flights going from CNX-USM and have an issue. There are no flights (that I could see or find) that leave after Shabbes that could get me to USM Saturday night in order to give me 2 full days in USM.

The next day, Sunday, the only normal (0 Connection / 1h45m flight) flights are in the afternoon:

This would really cut my time in USM significantly.   >:( :-\

What to do?

Is 2 days CNX (Wed PM through Friday noon) / 4 days USM > 4 days CNX / 1.7 days USM?

I wish I had more time but unless some Sunday flights from NY open up, I'll have to work with what I have.

Fly CNX-BKK Saturday night, sleep in BKK, then fly BKK-USM on the first flight Sunday morning.

Isnt that just for "Earn 2 weekend night certificates "? I will not be there over a weekend.  Versus Surpass which is only 60k but can get 6x on pharmacies.
If not going to be there weekends, then Surpass is a good idea.

Saterday night and Sunday night in USM can be covered by the Citi Hilton 2 nght certificate
