I got this card a few months ago w/ the 80k offer. last week a priority pass membership card came in the mail saying on the letter that its a free benefit of the amex surpass card. Anyone else got this ? Its not listed as one of the benefits.

Yes it is. But don't use it. It's not free with surpass. It'll cost you $27pp (even primary cardholder) if you use it.

A closer look at the letter showed your right, however if you dont travel that often is this not a far better choice than paying 450 a year for the Platinum?

I got a targeted offer on my existing HHonors card to upgrade to surpass and get 100k. I have no particular need to keep this card as an HHonors card, any reason not do this? I was thinking of applying for the surpass anyway. This way is just w/o a credit pull.... however it's interesting to note that the upgrade offer had no language, so technically I can apply for a new card and upgrade? Thoughts?
