hotel beginner
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:38:57 PM »
haven't yet used any points and/or miles for booking hotels.  been flights only until now.  can someone direct me to DD link that lays out the various options, e.g. starwood, amex, etc.  can't seem to find a recent comprehensive summary.   (p.s. need to book in oslo and jerusalem this coming july.)

Does a summary even exist?

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Nope, but here are some credit card links from cards that advertise with DansDeals:
Hyatt (Chase)
Starwood Consumer (AMEX)
Starwood Business (AMEX
Marriott (Chase)
Marriott Premier(Chase)
Hilton (Citi)
thanks.  was basically looking for the post that discusses best options for booking hotels with starwood points or amex points.

I wouldn't use AMEX points for hotels.

As far as using Starpoints, enjoy the reading:

Someone's been really bored here..
Lol

But on another note. Where's a good place to get a basic recap or what and how to book with hotels?

Never really booked with points or used vouchers/Certificates to book rooms in hotels.
Nor did I possess a hotel branded CC.

Trying to help out a sibling who's going with 3 in total, so technically only needs one room.

What's my best options or rather any recent posts from Dan about hotels, or just the cc offers and then some basic info about where to use the vouchers and alike?

Any good choice for a decent priced hotel for 4 nights at an ocean front hotel in Miami Beach Florida?

2 names that were meantioned, anything worthwhile?

1)Holiday Inn Miami Beach-Oceanfront, an IHG Hotel
4333 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140
(305) 532-3311 https://g.co/kgs/RQmryW

2)Radisson Hotel Miami Beach
4343 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140
(786) 744-5729 https://g.co/kgs/HvMuUn

Can a Radisson hotel be booked with UR rewards.

Or what other options do you guys suggest?
Or is a better option to book using certificates which I would buy from members in GFS thread.

In regards to points can I have them transferred to an account with status to have them booked for me. If yes, can that be done directly from chase? Or once they're in my hotel of my choice in my account and then transfer?

Seems I have lots of homework to do. Lol.

If there's any good posts from Dan, TPG, or some of the other blogs? If you don't mind posting them here, would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys.
