candy machines
« on: December 04, 2015, 12:23:05 PM »
I am looking to buy a few small candy machines for our chanuka party (such as a cotton candy machine, popcorn, donut maker, candy maker etc.) Does anyone have any of these? Which should I buy that won't break the first day we use it?

If it is for one time use, why not just rent it?

It'll probably be hard to find a kosher one available on Chanuka but renting's the way to go...

If u have place to store them and u have  $250 -$500 a piece then in my opinion,  first cotton candy,  then snow cone, then popcorn. Not sure how often u would use donut maker.  Personally i would get a deep fryer and use Rhodes frozen dinner rolls as the dough.
The first 3 we use all the time at events and parties.  Supplies for them are not too expensive

I bought a cotton candy machine for about  $250 5 years ago and it just stopped working this year.  Needs a new belt. Was prob used 5 or 6 times a year on average.
I bought a popcorn machine at the same time but it broke within the year.  I think it was because the people running it didn't know what they were doing.
I bought the snow cone machine in sept and already used it 6 times.

Yup two about 5 yrs ago and one this year.
Between chabad on Campus, cteen, Hebrew school,  community events. .. sometimes it makes more sense to buy then to keep on renting
