Very valid reason to donate, but still, every online fundraiser gives me the jitters about security of my cc info. Call it paranoia.

Sure, give to whatever you want, that's not my point. My point was that saying you'd rather give to a charity is only a valid argument if you actually donated money to charity in lieu of giving to Wikipedia. Just saying that you'd rather give to a charity is a rather stupid thing to say unless you actually did it.

The idea isn't that it's supposed to be a tzedakkah. This is a service that you benefit from. Just like YouTube premium.

If you only eat bread, drink water, and give all your money to tzedakkah then you'd have a tayna.
