IME it was easy to do abroad, but being a U.S. citizen is not enough for a parent (or even both parents) to give their child citizenship, you have to prove that you lived in the U.S. for some time (IINM it was 10 years, 5 of which were after age 18), I still have my thick folder with "evidence".
That seems to be correct if the childs right to US citizenship is because 1 or both of his/her parents are US citizens but if 1 of the parents were born in the US, I believe you don't need proof of how long you spent in the US.

+1, I needed proof and I was born in the USA. Quoting Wikipedia to argue with someone who has done it?

Did it with 3 kids never brought proof.

Eta: Unless a marriage certificate is considered proof.

If you are legally married you just need to bring your marriage certificate.

Yup I don't even have anything else to show them, no birth certificates or school transcripts here.

That would seem to concur with Wikipedia.

You need an American one. You will need to prove that father was in the states for 5 years, 2 over the age of 14, or the mother was in the states for 365 consecutive days over the age of 16(14?)

Thanks all! I spoke to my local embassy (not Israel), she said "if both parents are US citizens my child is automatically a US citizen from the second he is born, all paperwork afterwards birth abroad etc, dosent make him a US citizen its just like a confirmation, So if both parents with enter the US with the blue passport (US passport ;)) and you will give for your son a different color, then they will make you issues, as he is already an american citizen"

Now I dont have any issues doing it here abroad, I just wanna know if it was possible to do all this paperwork first in the US:
1. Will I get the same birth abroad or some different document?

2. Will it be better later on for my son (to proof) that he lives in the US, by getting this documents in the US  Vehameven Yuvin...?

3. And if its not possible or does not make a difference, does it make a difference if I will apply for his social card first in the US or also not?

TIA

And one more question, should I apply for the social security card together with the birth abroad and passport or in the U.S. ?
