Candles lighting in airport?
« on: December 08, 2015, 01:42:56 AM »
I'm flying on Sunday from TLV to GRU via ZRH - the issue is that I'm taking off from TLV at 3pm, before candle lighting time.

Anybody has experience lighting candles in an airport / lounge etc? Can't picture doing it in ZRH but I don't seem to have any other choice..

Thanks!

There is no חיוב to light anywhere but at home. You have to make a שליח to light  for you that night and additionally possibly light yourself when you arrive.

I would assume it's the same as in Friday. Put enough oil at home to burn into the night.

I'm not sure what time פלג המנחה is in Israel but lighting before that time ain't worth anything even if you put enough oil to last for 8 days and nights.

Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Many on DDF have traveled on chanukah, so I can hear why someone would assume many have asked their Rav and are interested in hearing the answers.

no one said they asked or brought any credible source, yet op's response was "will do". Something like this should be brought to a competent rov that's all.

Make a public lighting ceremony in ZRH ;)
How long is your connection?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

i have no clue.
