Lost Card
« on: March 02, 2011, 12:12:36 AM »
One of the au's on my account lost their card,so far I have only frozen it.
I was wondering if i report it lost and they close it down, will the new account be predated to the original card opening date?this is my first card and I don't want to lose a few years of credit history.

When you report a card lost they don't close the account, they just switch the number.

I've seen a credit report with an account listed "reported lost or stolen" and the new account was listed seperately, but if the new account has the same open date it won't affect me.
I found some more info here
