There's a car parked in front of my driveway since Thursday night.😡 He/she parked with the hazard lights on so the battery is drained.

I never felt comfortable towing someone's vehicle as it's a huge headache and quite expensive (for the car owner) I usually just put up a note asking not to block my driveway with a warning that next time I'll tow it, and yes, I do keep track if anyone does it twice I'd tow.

Now this car has been there for 3 days and caused me quite some headache, Thursday night I came home from a Chanukah party 2-3 o'clock and had to park 2 blocks down and so on...

Should I tow it?

I've heard that if one pours oil on the tiers it makes it easy to push the car?

Don't pour oil on tires. Person will drive away, crash, and you've got a lawsuit.

Maybe just push out of way.

Unless your driveway is illegal. If so, it's my car and hahah

Awesome story! Thanks for the update. I'm very impressed with how you handled this.
+100. I never would have been so patient. Good for you.

Thank you all.

Did you ask him why his hazards were on? ???
He said he turned it on when he tried to pull in to the spot and caused big traffic and forgot to turn it off. Have you ever seen an old guy park? :)

or why he didn't care about alt side...
Didn't ask that one. Some people don't mind $45

+1
Does he live near you?
No. He came to his son-in-law who lives on the block and went with him to Baltimore.

:) That's why in the end I did it with a jack. It was quite some fun.
It is legal.

Before addressing the arguments you raised, can you share who the CM poiskim you spoke are? I posted a name upthread of one of the most prominent CM Dayunim who I took my Pesak from.
I've also asked reputable Dayanim. Many famous Dinei Torah were done at the bais din. of one of the dayanim I asked. IINM one is the Bobov din torah (not that it means anything...)

Well, now with Bobov you just killed it. ;)

Still, no name of a prominent CM Dayen. Calling a Beis Din that handles Din Torahs does not mean that you'll get to speak with a Rav who knows CM. Again, if you have a Pesak from a prominent CM Rav, I am all ears.

Why didn't you suggest it day 1?

He didn't mention that it was a lease.

The end of the story,

I called up the leasing company where the car was leased and asked if they have the phone number of the owner, I gave the plate number and they were able to locate his contact info.

I called up the number, a real old guy picks up the phone and I ask him, are you the owner of a blue accord?

Him:Yes.

Me:Are you doing fine?

Him:Yes, what's the matter?

Me:Do you know you're blocking a driveway for 3 days?

Him:Oh! you're serious?

Me:Yes I am, would you come move your car?

Him:I'm out of town, I went to Baltimore to my kids, oh my! I'm so sorry I really didn't notice there's a driveway (I don't know how it can be foreseen, I guess I'll understand when I get older :) )

Me: I have 2 options for you, I can have the vehicle towed and it will cost you about $300 or I can move it with a few jacks but I take no responsibility if your car gets damaged.

He chose the latter, we had a nice conversation and I moved the car.

I'm glad I didn't tow it, that old guy really seemed to be innocent and it would've take him forever to locate his car.
How did you end up moving it?

You are being ridiculous. We all know that there are differing opinions regarding these issues. The dayan you spoke to is definitely entitled to his opinion but that does not preclude others from having a differing one.

yes, but I still don't understand how it moved. Four jacks just gets in off the ground. You still need wheel dollies to move it

I've seen four car jacks with wheels used.

Are you a Dayen? How can you say that there are different opinions when you don't know who they are? A Rav who does not know CM WELL can not have a say here. Sorry. Really sorry.
