New Point System for Chase Sapphire Preferred
« on: December 15, 2015, 09:32:54 PM »
I'm hoping this is new thread worthy :D (if not feel free to delete this mods) but anyways,

As you may know, this is the last year that the Chase Sapphire Preferred is offering its 7% yearly bonus points dividend to those who qualify. As I was confirming this, the costumer rep was telling me about how next year there will be a brand new points award system on top of the 2x dining and traveling. She said it will be very similar to what the Freedom currently has with its rotating bonus points for certain categories on top of the 2x dining and traveling. She told me that much hasn't been revealed to them about how it’s structured and when it will be released besides what I have written here. Was wondering if anyone else heard anything more about this or do you think the customer rep was lying?

This definitely could be new thread worthy. Depends on the veracity of the reps facts and what exactly the new system will be.
Only time will tell.

Looks like they're trying to up their game and compete with Citi Premier and Amex PRG

Ouch!
Sorry for this off topic question. Do you always keep your phone on low power mode?

Settings/Battery/Low Power Mode.
BTW if you look good you'll see that it's plugged in the charger...

My question wasn't how to set the LPM. I was asking if you always keep it on LPM. I was thinking of always keeping my phone on LPM so I wanted to hear how you're getting your emails etc.

According to this only the portal bonus is going away, not the built-in travel and dining bonuses. Doesn't look so terrible to me.

Quote
You will receive the 7% annual points rebate on your
January or February of 2016 billing statement based on the
reward points that you earned on your 2015 billing
statements. Any enrollment bonus points that you have
received would not be included in the 7% annual rebate
calculation. Please be aware that this is the last time
that the 7% annual points rebate will post to the Sapphire
Preferred accounts.

The option to earn 3% rewards on using the Travel Center
or the Ultimate Rewards website for travel purchases will
no longer be available after December 31, 2015. There
have been no changes made to the 2% rewards earned on the
Sapphire Preferred program. Therefore, you will continue
to earn 2% rewards if the purchase is classified in one of
the categories listed below. There are no current plans
to add additional reward options such as a 5% quarterly
offer that is offered by the Freedom Ultimate rewards
program.
