samsung tv keeps turning on and off and on

Anyone have this similar problem? Whenever we turn the tv on, it shuts off and restarts every 2 minutes or so. tv repair wants like 200$ and they want me to dismount the tv, which I dont know how to do. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Get a power strip plug the TV in to it plug something else in to the power strip see if they both turn on and off. then if only the TV turns off cover the remote receiver on the TV see if it continues.

I did call Samsung, they are very unhelpful in general. They said I'm out of warranty . I plugged the TV in a  power strip along with sone thing else but only the TV keeps restarting. I covered the remote receiver on the TV and it still just keeps restarting . Any other suggestions?? Has anyone been through this?
