McCormick's Grill Mates- Montreal Steak Seasoning and Montreal Chicken Seasoning have saved me numerous times in the kitchen.

I just generously sprinkle steaks and chicken with it and pan sear. Super fast, and very tasty!

Just a side note.. I don't know that I'd label grain, dairy and legumes junk. They all offer various nutrients etc. And while limiting your intake or eliminating them altogether may be beneficial for various reasons I wouldn't put them in same category as sugar. Just my opinion.

Maybe. But to call them junk seems like a major exaggeration and honestly probably not helpful.

having the weigh in day 2 days after a "cheat day" kind of negates part of the benefits.

But you end up with two days off. And doesn't eating all that fat and then switching to carbs defeat the whole purpose?

Fish, soup, chicken/meat, eggs, are all fats. The only thing I cheat on on Shabbos is one slice challah.

Not really on a lot fat diet either. More like a moderation/low calorie diet.
Have a banana or two for breakfast.
Salad with a protein for lunch.
Dinner is hopefully something healthy (whatever my wife cooks) in moderation.
Snack only on fruits and veggies.

So I eat a little more than that on shabbos. Just do it in moderation

For those weighing daily: If you gain 2lbs over Shabbos but lose 4 the next day (water weight comes off quickly) only add 2lb not 4 to the total lbs lost.

It doesn't make any sense to me.

The book does list some tips to minimize weight gain on a cheat day, but no gain at all?

The only thing I could think was that I lost weight on Friday that I gained back on Shabbos.
