Anyway to book 1-way ewr-tlv without the crazy 1 way prices?
(Domestic after many years finally stopped surcharging for 1 way, how come International they still do?)

Bc they can. Domestic stopped for most routes a few years ago. Some routes still require RT travel for the cheaper fares.

Try a TA (perhaps they may have a student ticket etc.), miles, or a false return to the cheapest destination you can find. (matrix is your friend ;))

You need united?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Try a TA. They may have net dares that will work for OWs. Should be around $800.

$800? Roundtrip EWR-TLV-BOS is $690. Just skip the return.

And what if his departure date is not available in K? (yes, I know that idea was mine. But being that I'm also a TA, I also KNOW that TA's are still good for something (like ilherman mentioned))

A much simpler solution would be to just post his dates. Then the OTA people can search, the TA's can post a quote, and may the best price win.
