rather than using twitter or email go here https://hhonormystatus.hiltonapps.com/ to get a diamond hilton match. This offer is valid now through January 11, 2016 and your status match with Hilton HHonors will be valid through March 31, 2017.

It’s actually quite easy to get matched on their website. All you need to enter is Your First and Last Name, Email Address, Hilton HHonors # as well as the loyalty program you’re matching from and then upload a screenshot. Acceptable forms of validation include a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card.

So are they only matching from SPG Platinum and Hyatt Diamond? Or even gold? Not clear...

I got the match with having hyatt diamond. I would assume top tier of all programs to get top tier hilton

I got just the Diamond matched from IHG Platinum Elite. Did it on the website form. I did not get an email yet, but the Hilton website and app have me as Diamond!

Let's see if this works. I got Best Western Diamond by asking them to match my SPG gold (that I got from my Amex platinum.)

Now I just submitted that BW diamond asking for HHilton diamond.

Also got Sixt Platinum, from BW (if it's worth anything).
Now let's see if Hyatt will match me to Hilton.
Marriott didn't, and spg offered a challenge, 18 nights in 90 days for platinum (as expected).

Seems like the SPG gold to BW diamond is a big YMMV but it worked for me.
