As of a few months ago there is no need to renounce citizenship, if neither parent is an Israeli citizen the kid will not be a citizen, unless you specifically ask that he should be

To 2nd AsherO here (somewhat), I know someone whose father was born in Israel, but his father hasn't been to Israel since he got married, so they aren't aware that his father has kids, thus they don't know that my friend is technically called Israeli. Is it a bad decision for father and son to know go to Israel together? Or can the son easily get out of any issues, for him (and for his future generations)?

Might depend on their lastname (no joke).

I think he's asking if such functionality exists within SMF.

He could be in deep trouble if they find out he's Israeli (they can require an Israeli passport to leave the country), even if he just fills out his fathers name on the immigration form they can make problems (as they'll see that his father is Israeli) these are not guesses, I know this for a fact.

So basically, it's a no-no to fly with his father. What are his only options to get out of being Israeli? Where does he go?

I had a Rebbi who had his legal name changed in the US, so he wouldn't have a problem. When he got to Israel, they asked to see his Tallis bag!
Luckily he came prepared.

He (legally) changed his name to his wife's maiden name, and he always traveled with one of his inlaws old bags (I think it was a brother-in-law). I don't remember what the first names were, but I guess they were either close enough, or his english name was something that could be anything in Hebrew
