What is happening to Amex signup bonuses?

I'm waiting on my first Amex bonus from my SPG card, any idea how long that takes? Any way to speed it up?

If points are pending, ask them via chat to expedite the base points only (i.e. the 5k). That will trigger the bonus points as well

If it's your first bonus it can take much longer

Spending points go into pending after the statement the money was spent in closes, and post the next  statement closes. Bonus points can only post into an account that has points in it already; it can't be the virgin activity.

Do you mean to say that points for spending only post the 2nd month after spend? Ie. spend in month 1, month 1 closes, the points are pending, month 2 closes and the points are posted? I havent seen that in my experience, the points posted right after closing for my previous spend.

I recently closed a BRG card, and now I'm seeing a 75K/10 offer in the offers section on my other cards for opening a BGR. The app that shows up makes no reference to not having had the same product. Any data points on whether I'd get the bonus if I apply for it?
