Finally got the time to write up an answer :P

Of course they are not. But that is completely different. I don't think of a clean credit report as a quality in a person, the same way I don't think that a person having wealthy parents is a quality in a person.

I'd disagree somewhat. While a clean report is something I'd somewhat come to expect and not assign too much value to, a bad report - IMM (mind) - is something that would trigger several red flags in my mind that I might not be comfortable with.

Recently, from what I've looked into about traveling to many of the milder arab countries, it seems it's just as safe, if not safer than traveling in the U.S. or Israel (for example Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain have among the lowest murder rates in the entire world). That is why I have no problem traveling to them. Obviously something can happen there, but something can happen anywhere.
That is absolutely ludicrous. Need me to explain or you are smart enough to realize your fooling yourself?

I agree, but from how D93 asked it, I assumed he meant from a making miles and money perspective :P Anyway I'd first assume it was bad for reasons out of her control, in which case it would not be a "negative."

Unless you're going to explain why those statistics don't account for a Jew going to these countries, then yes I need you to explain.

How many Jewish tourists do you think visit?
Which airlines connect there?

I think I remember reading that you can get arrested in Lebanon if there's evidence that you've ever been to Israel, and not only if you currently have Israeli stamps in your passport. Aside from that, I think Americans are supposed to be able to go there.

ETA: here's where I read that http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/country/lebanon.html

I thought this thread was bumped due to Turkey but I guess not.

Fact is terrorists in countries like Turkey are eager to carry out attacks on Jews from the comforts of home.

So yeah anyone who is scared should definitely be labeled an islamaphobe, because radical Islamists aren't given free reign to operate in these countries.

Turkey isn't an Arab country, but whatever.

Didn't say it was, read again.
BTW Turkey is 98% Muslim.

So what does it matter if it's an Arab country or not?
Yeh I know what the title of this thread is, but I would assume the OP meant Muslim countries more than Arab.
After all, it's the Muslims religion that promotes the killing of Jews, nothing to do with Arabs, who can be Christian, Jewish or anything else in between.

I would be flying ET in, and MS out.

Anybody here been to BEY? I don't recall seeing any mention of anyone having been there.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

So you're scared to travel TK and stop in IST?

I think it is less about a quick stopover and more about choosing Turkey as a current Vaca spot. Don't get me wrong, I have done it and have had a great time there but currently I'd probably venture to other destinations on my list.

1. As Benjie stated, stopping over and vacationing are completely different questions.
2. Some people here think it's insane to NOT trave to these countries. I would probably still go to Turkey but it is definitely not unreasonable to not consider traveling there.
