Need some facts.
1. Does a transfer station (where no trash would be stored overnight) indeed smell up the neighborhood?
2. What are the benefits to the larger community?
3. What other options does the township have in terms of location?

But the bigger question is, why did the township not proactively share information and attempt to get residents on board. And what can we do to show them that we are fed up with being treated like we are not stakeholders in these decisions?

You'll get at least 10 votes from DDF.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Every year since 2018, NJ Globe editor David Wildstein publishes an NJ Power List, with the top 100 most powerful unelected people in NJ. Check out these entries:

2018:

2019:

2020:

The 2021 edition was released this morning. Someone is noticeably missing from the list this year...

Every year they start with last year’s list, list prominent people to add (which determines how many need to go), reorder, and publish the top 100 of the reformulated list. If someone doesn’t make new headlines, they move down.

I believe that a large part of why there has never been a viable candidate is because the typical frum lifestyle (working + family size + learning and davening obligations) doesn't leave much time for this kind of commitment. I always believed that the ideal candidate is a retiree with a record of success in business or an experienced former administrator of a non profit organization. Such a person would have the skill set and the time commitment necessary, and more importantly, would not be as susceptible to outside pressure. With the new influx of exactly this demographic, it should not be too difficult to field a couple of viable options.

If this doesn't happen, I believe the township committee will consist of five 30-something year old chassidim in the near future.

And then we will yearn for the days of the current administration.

I have confirmed that this was directly because of the way Lakewood voted in the last election.

Considering that there were other times the exact same result happened and they did not make that change there must be more to it.

As it written on the list (on the above pictures), he was on the list because he controls 10,000 votes. The placement on the list changes year by year based on the power during THAT year, as is clear from the description of the 2020 picture. That being the case, THIS YEAR he did not control 10,000 votes, so he does not deserve a place on the list.
