I didn't quote the post to judge, just to point out how dangerous it is to drive in a city (not town) where everyone is rushing and pressured. In any case, I think he didn't see the other driver, not aggressive. But it's sad that we just accept this and go on with life instead of organizing massive asifas to put a focus on safety (and Derech Eretz and midos, besides for QoL issues).
An asifa won’t help much at all. Lakewood drivers aren’t aggressive and unsafe by nature, and don’t have bad derech eretz. They’re taught to drive aggressive and unsafe by the roads. Way too many intersections are impassable without an aggressive, unsafe turn. I would guess intersections are the leading area of accidents around town.
When you force everyone to break the rules multiple times daily, it’s only natural to see a general lack of care in following the rules, some people more than others. There’s not much we can do to fix the roads at this point and pointing fingers at those responsible doesn’t do anything to solve the issue. And so it will continue.
