As much as I like to make fun of TLS for all their shananagins, I agree 100 percent that they are not allowed to publish a story that contains lashon harah. The "Chilul Hashem" story doesn't hold any water if they are violating halacha, and there is zero heter of parnassah in lashon harah. (The Chofetz Chaim famously writes that if a boss tells you that if you don't say lashon harah he will fire you, and you will have no other source of parnassah, you are still not allowed to say the lashon harah.)

If one cannot get around the issue of lashon harah, they should close down their site.

And there is nothing wrong with being a blog site and not an "unbiased, we publish everything" news site.

What’s this all about?

School vouchers. Good intentions on their part but pie in the sky. This has about as much chance getting through the liberal Teachers Union dominated NJ legislature as getting AOC to volunteer for the IDF.

My gripe is that they post a "news" story of someone getting arrested for something like a minor drug crime, along with 7 videos and 83 pictures of the perp and the incident, but only if the person isn't Jewish. The readership is not all that stupid. If it's obvious that you're censoring/ignoring incidents with Jewish perps, don't cover these incidents at all.

Are there a lot of Jewish perps arrested in minor drug crimes? Is APP et al censoring them too?

On a serious note I hear your point and agree it's glaring to protect the Jews anonymity and post names and details regarding other incidences, crime or not.

There are some arrested, I personally don't find any of it newsworthy. My point wasn't specifically about minor drug stories, it can be about theft,  reckless driver accident, and any local news story that only gets censored for Jews. Then you have a major local news story that gets covered in the APP and elsewhere, and you can't find a trace of it on any local Jewish website. It's really glaring.

All the local Lakewood news sites are Jewish-owned, never publish a single negative detail of a story involving Jews (even if it’s a major story covered elsewhere), while covering every last detail of every minor crime of others. I find the obvious bias to be wrong, distasteful, and sways people towards Jewish hate.

This has been amazing since I came back. I agree mostly with you also!
I don't know if it sways them to hate. They might pretend that is the reason why but most likely they already hated them.

If someone would build an opinion of frum Jews in Lakewood solely from TLS, they would come out with a caricature of an anti-vax, Second Amendment nutjob who thinks the entire world is out to get them. And loves gossiping and buffing.

Maybe just maybe you have hate to some extent to the people/ideology that cause TLS to have such a (frum) hashkafa… don’t mean to offend at all and you’re probably very nice in person but many Jews have this “problem”… some more than others…

Perhaps you are right that I’m hateful, I’m always open for introspection. However I commend the fact that they don’t publish LH and have never said otherwise, my issue is what they do publish.
