Very well written...for an audience of TLS readers.  If the goal is to have it read by the Gov and AG, the writer should send 2 separate letters directly to them.

I was once told that politicians do keep tabs on correspondence from us citizens, even if it's only to count the number of pro and con letters.  So when one concerning issue arose, I emailed my opinion (3-4 sentences) to both of my state senators and got a well-thought-out response from 50% of them (explaining why he disagreed).  True, it might have been a form letter intended for all of "my kind" of people, and it might even have been written by some eager poli sci undergrad intern, but at least I had the sense that the senator had some awareness of my viewpoint.

You'd be shocked how few people actually call or email politicians. I've done it (both to question/disagree with or to thank/encourage them) and they are surprisingly accessible and receptive to hearing from voters.
