Mazel Tov! This is even bigger news than originally, no?
What do you mean "originally"? The regular judge? It's a bigger win because the appeals court is a much riskier place, as they don't really know the case so well, so this being affirmed by them is a major win. Also, it's really hard to appeal this higher, so it may be the final word.

The resha'im at the AG's office already vowed to try to appeal to the state's Supreme Court

Any chance the prosecutor will be charged with a Brady violation? If the Supreme Court upholds the decision of the appeals court or doesn’t agree to hear it will they be required to pay his lawyers fees?

It is my understanding that unless they prove that the Brady violation was intentional, they can't get anything. But they are trying to get documents that may be able to prove it, and the prosecutors are trying to not hand it over, but the judge ruled that they have to hand it over. That ruling was on hold, but is now back in effect after the appeals ruling.

Wow. So would seem that the first step before the prosecution appeals to the Supreme Court would be to find out what they are hiding and why they are hiding it.

It's possible that a main reason they are appealing is because they want to not turn over those documents. But it's unlikely it will succeed, because the judge will almost for sure rule they have to turn it over immediately, and although they may appeal that ruling, it's not likely the appeals court will grant it. Getting a case into the state's supreme court is always considered a long shot, and it's not a given that anything stops to wait for the eventuality.

In other words, those documents may have some real damning evidence on them that the prosecution is desperately trying to hide. And as it stands now, there is a ruling requiring them to hand them over. Correct?

Highly unlikely he'll need our votes, don't think his district includes too many from our community (the district includes the Union County municipalities of Elizabeth, Hillside, Roselle and Union Township).

We may be able to help him more with campaign funds, which I think may already in the works.

This guy's background IINM is that his father spent time in jail because of prosecutorial misconduct before being released. IINM, his son is (or was) also incarcerated. He has a personal taste of this type of corruption, so he has real motivation to act. And once he got involved, I think he got some encouragement from local askanim to carry on.

All of these have frum communities, although I just looked at the map, and I see it includes Kenilworth which AFAIK does not have a frum community and not hillside.

The Linden community is on the border with Roselle, with many frum living in Roselle.

Interesting. I don't have any intimate knowledge about any of those communities, and I never heard anything frum about them from my Lakewood bubble. Is there a significant frum vote there?

Elizabeth is an old established community with a number of shuls and a yeshiva. Hillside also has a shul and a yeshiva.

Elizabeth has a very large frum community for many many years including Rabbi Teitz.
Linden is growing very fast, but I'm not sure how many live in Roselle.
Union has a yeshiva (The former Linden Yeshiva) and a small bobov community.

If anyone discovers this thread now without looking at previous posts, they are going to think that we have really wide plans for "The future of Lakewood"  ;D
