I don't understand why this is a story to anyone other than the frum Jews. To them it's just some random guy behaving like a creep and lying to girls. How is that a story? There's implication of maybe some fraud with the part about the charity page, but no real allegation made. No claim of SA, etc. It's not a 'takedown' piece because this is not some public/famous figure of a high position to be taken down.
Very interesting point because until I read the article I assumed the focus would be on the irony of an Orthodox Rabbi, who would purportedly be above the NYC party scene, waist deep in it. But they really skipped that part. So I think there are 2 answers, A. Catfishing, and otherwise scamming multiple women, is kind of a big deal. There have been documentaries, TV series, as well as endless literature on the subject. And B. it's not that big of a news story. Traditionally, when a tabloid breaks a major story, most other platforms will have their own coverage within minutes. But 3 days later barely anyone else has touched this. So maybe it's not that big of a deal.
