I am officially calling it. Schnall beat Thomson, and will be our next Assemblyman. Daas Torah triumphed.
I know I'm early, but it will be significantly more challenging for him to win reelection in 2 years. Next time he is up is a presidential election. Turnout is often double as high, and many just vote straight down the ticket.
from what I understand (that they just need him to champion the tuition bill), he may not need to be in office for more than 1 term
A freshman assemblyman isn't going to push thru an unpopular tuition bill in his first term if ever. IMHO this whole vote for Avi for tuition relief is one big scam and may have been mainly to drive turnout. I thing there are other reasons to vote for him as having someone from our community representing our interests goes alot further than relying on others.
Why unpopular? It can be very popular across many demographics. All states that currently have it to whatever degree, didn't pass it for the orthodox Jews.If there's no significant bill passed (or on the way to be passed) by the next election, that's when he'll have a hard time getting realected.
NJ is a democratic state. Democrats generally are anti voucher and anti private school in general
All districts reporting (though a few more mail-ins will be added over the next days)
The last governor race was 51-48%, plenty of room for popularity on a school voucher/tax credit program.
How about stopping the robocalls asking you to follow daas torah as well. I didn't need 20 phone calls today on top of the 15 text messages and all the calls for the last week.
@YitzyS where is the Lchaim?
Why not campaign HQ at the old Emporio?
