It's kinda weird because looking at the lag baomer organizers/sponsors and it seems to be the establishment fighting itself.
Maybe that explains why the BMG protest is missing a signature.
Im assuming that he is still recuperating and wasn't able to sign

Yes that’s for sure the reason. I recently heard that he’s very very weak and isn’t supposed to be back before sukkos

Looks like the biggest issue would be the wording of the link. There didn't seem to be any dishonest spin within the article.
You're okay with the ending of the piece?

I'm not sure where you're reading that. For me, the last paragraph reads:

There will also be another Lag Baomer event taking place at the Blue Claws stadium this year, the annual Lag Baomer evening bonfire event hosted by Minyan Shelanu. It is scheduled to take place in the Blue Claws stadium parking lot on April 29th at 6 PM.  Some have conjectured that this reflects the concern of the Rabbonim for those who are struggling.

Lakewood’s BMG Bans Separate Seating Lag Baomer Concert, But Allows Mixed Event
April 27, 2021 5:23 pm

LAKEWOOD (VINnews) — A Kosher concert scheduled to take place in Lakewood on Lag Baomer has drawn the ire of Beth Medrash Govoha’s leadership.

The concert, geared towards children, was to feature performances by Benny Friedman and master storyteller Rabbi Ari Glick. The schedule included Tehilim recital and a raffle for a Shas.

The concert was to have separate seating.

In order to secure a venue with enough space to accomodate the expected crowd, the concert was to be held in the Blue Claws stadium, a local minor league baseball stadium.

However, just days before Lag baomer, a letter was released bearing signatures of 3 out of the 4 Roshei Yeshiva of BMG in which they “urge parents not to bring their children to this event, nor to support it or participate in it in any way.”

According to the letter, the Roshei Yeshiva believe that the event would be an “unprecedented breach of our community’s policies,” due to the fact that it’s being held in a stadium.

The letter also calls the concert itself “contrary to the spirit of Torah scholars.”

What is more interesting however, is the fact that there will be another Lag Baomer event taking place at the Blue Claws stadium this year.

The annual Lag Baomer evening bonfire event hosted by Minyan Shelanu is scheduled to take place in the Blue Claws stadium parking lot on April 29th at 6 PM.

This event is not known to have separate seating.

It appears that BMG’s leadership did not feel the need to issue any guidance about that event.

I don't think that's dishonest reporting. It's disgusting, divisive, and snarky, but I expect nothing less from Jewish media.

What’s funny is that they state this is the issue -

“ According to the letter, the Roshei Yeshiva believe that the event would be an “unprecedented breach of our community’s policies,” due to the fact that it’s being held in a stadium.”

& then they go on to say that there will be a diff event in the parking lot, we’ll it won’t be in the stadium…

I’m not giving any opinion either way just find that funny that they put the two together as if they’re a contradiction

It's dishonest because they make it sound like there is hypocrisy involved when there is an obvious reason the Minyan event was not targeted, and that is because it's not being aggressively marketed to the yeshiva community in a way that puts it on their radar.

Was it? Or was it switched to the parking lot after the backlash?

BlueClaws stadium is considered a lot worse than Giants stadium, for historical reasons.

Very true, but Lakewood ain’t what it used to be.
And that’s why it raises eyebrows when they finally put their foot down.
