You say this now while  before election day many were wondering if he would be able to get enough votes from Lakewood to push him over the top.
OK as a completely uneducated observer, I actually thought he would win even before, although not by such numbers. My point upon seeing the numbers (which I am sure the campaign did) of what the vote totals were in the past, was that it would seem that he was likely to win comfortably. Do you think they were unsure he would win because they thought that Thompson would be able to maintain a lot more support inside Lakewood due to being a Republican and people would vote the party line? If that's the case it's pretty sad that it was even a real concern that people would blindly vote Republican instead of their interests/Daas Torah, and I am certainly happy that was not borne out in actuality. Or was there a different reason that there was a concern that he would not get enough votes from Lakewood?

Of course. I hold Rav Miller in the absolute highest regard. He was a gadol and had extremely clear daas torah.

When did he discuss a frum politician running as a Democratic for purely political expediency?

From what I recall, Rav Avigdor Miller would rally against liberals, not specifically Democrats.

ETA: See the last part of this article, I think it's what @yuneeq was saying upthread: The influence starts now. Lakewood is now a player to be reckoned with, and if they want, they can take the entire slate.

Good analysis. I was stumped by the statement that "Lakewood voters cast 48,766 votes in this year’s Assembly race, a 125% increase over the 39,153 votes cast in the 2021 Assembly race."

125% increase would be absolutely bonkers, and would translate to 88,094 voters. In reality it was a 25% increase.

Hence why I was taken out of my comfort zone, its not that complicated.

BTW this daas torah campaign had zero effect on my voting
and in my opinion politicians should have a good message in a way it should convince everyone to back him, and daas Torah should be used as a last resort,
politics is dirty and we don't have to drag gedolim to be busy with politics, thats my opinion, you're welcome.

Daas Torah should be a part of every area of your life,
Especially when these decisions have big ramifications and have to do with the klal.
That’s my opinion, your welcome

I think in proper math, the total is 125%. The increase is 25%

Correct. I’m curious if a 25% increase is considered significant as well, it doesn’t sound crazy.

Going from a gubernatorial year to an off year, that is huge. It was expected to drop a significant amount.
